MOBiNET webinars demonstrated technical and business value of the MOBiNET core components

The MOBiNET project organised two successful webinars dedicated exclusively to the technical and business value of the MOBiNET platform components.

The MOBiNET platform provides components and tools that enable interactions between travellers, transport system users operators, service providers, content providers and transport infrastructure. At the heart of the platform is the MOBiCENTRE which includes Service Directory, Identity Manager, Billing and TSP Manager.

Yanki Dodya, DLR, webinar moderator, presented the Service Support Centre (SSC), the first point for users who need information about the MOBiNET platform. The SSC provides information on how to use the platform or its components, or for development purposes. The SCC is a website integrated within the Dashboard. The respective webinars covered following components:

Webinar 1
Dashboard by Benjamin Hebgen - NEC; Identity Manager by Enzo Contini – Telecom Italia; Service Directory by Lars Mikkelsen – Aalborg University; Service billing by Daniela Vasari – Pluservice; Analytics Server by Benjamin Hebgen - NEC; and TSP Manager by Michael Sena - Allianz Telematics.

Webinar 2
Communication Agent by Tarakeshwar Rao – NEC Europe; MOBiAGENT by Bastiaan Wissingh – TNO; Data Quality Assessment by Jihed Khiari and Francesco Alesiani – NEC Europe; Service Development Kit by Andreas Rickling – DLR; and Privacy & Security by Thierry Jacquin – XEROX.

Each of the component owners presented not only a short description of the component and its main features but also the role of the component in the context of the latest MOBiNET platform release; as well as its interaction with the other components.

In terms of the business value, it is important to highlight MOBiNET is an eMobility Marketplace platform; a multi-vendor platform for a Europe-wide (and even global) delivery of mobility services. The platform will support the delivery of services and data to private and commercial users using data and services from public and private sources. It will support multiple business strategies and business models for public and private service providers.

Interactive polls provided interesting insights into which components webinar attendees found most useful.
